Operating in Utah requires seamless integration with the UtahID ecosystem and the One-Stop Business Registration portal. States Business Consulting ensures your Utah entity maintains compliance from Salt Lake City and Provo to St. George.

I. Utah Entity Formation & Registration

STEP 01

One-Stop Registration

Formalize your LLC, Corporation, or DBA via the OSBR portal. This system links the Dept. of Commerce, Tax Commission, and Workforce Services in a single workflow.

Local Municipal Licensing

Utah does not have a general state license. You MUST apply for a business license with the city or county where your physical office is located.

II. Compliance & Annual Renewals

Anniversary Renewals

Utah "Annual Reports" are due by the last day of your anniversary month. Failure to file within the 30-day grace period leads to entity expiration.

III. Workforce & Employer Systems

Utah employer standards are managed primarily by the Department of Workforce Services (DWS):

Unemployment Tax (UI)

Employers must register with the DWS. Quarterly wage reports and UI contributions are handled via the DWS Employer Portal.

Workers' Compensation

Workers' comp is mandatory for almost all Utah employers. Verify coverage or manage claims through the Labor Commission of Utah.
